Running For a Cause
Grand Hampton recently held its annual 5K and 1-mile Fun Run, and this year’s theme was Superheroes and Sidekicks! Fifty-five residents and participants from the community gathered together on an early Saturday morning dressed as their favorite Superheroes to run for a good cause.
The Superhero 5K race and the 1-mile “Sidekick” Fun Run, sponsored in part by Edward Jones, saw a portion of the proceeds benefit the Tampa Police Explorers Post 275. This group was chosen after a Grand Hampton resident, who was very involved with the Tampa Police Explorers and Grand Hampton, passed away suddenly a few weeks before last year’s 5K. Post 275 attended the event and volunteered to guide and cheer on runners as they raced through the streets of Grand Hampton. We are happy to report that $300 was raised to be presented to the Tampa Police Explorers Post 275. This will help Post 275 to continue their mission to provide a positive relationship between Police Officers and Youth who wish to learn about a career in Law Enforcement.
Grand Hampton Lifestyle Director, Nichole Miller, would like to thank all of the vendors, volunteers, and participants who made this year’s 5K and Fun Run a success!
